Liverpool midfielder told he must wait another season to play in the Premier League: Will he ever get a chance?

You have to feel a bit sorry for Liverpool midfielder Sebastian Leto. After making a move last season from Argentina to Liverpool, the shifty midfielder has been waiting on the sidelines for a chance to play while he got clearance on a work permit. After holding out for good news, Leto was hit with the shock realisation that he’ll have to wait another season before playing with the first-team.

Liverpool midfielder Sebastian Leto has been denied a work permit to play in England next season.

Reds manager Rafael Benitez will now loan the winger out to a foreign club, but was hopeful that the Argentinian would return to Liverpool next season.

‘I am disappointed and it was a surprise because this is a player who has played in the Champions League. You have managers talking about how good he is, so I think the system needs to change,’ Benitez said. (ESPNsoccernet)

Rafa has made it clear that this isn’t the end of Leto’s career at Anfield; however, with the club adding the likes of Damien Plessis to the first-team this season, Leto’s chances of making a dent at the club appears to be getting smaller by the day. The Argentine will once again be loaned out, and from the looks of it, probably won’t be coming back anytime soon.

What do Liverpool supporters think about the whole Leto saga? Do you think he will ever make a mark with the first-team at Liverpool?
