This one-time Wenger target has stated that it would be his dream to move the Emirates – and the reports from this source suggests that it could well become a reality!
Le Mans starlet Gervinho has reiterated his desire to secure a transfer to Arsenal.
The Ivory Coast international declared earlier in the summer that Arsenal were keen to sign him.
The Gunners’ interest appears to have cooled but Gervinho feels a move could still go ahead in the future if he keeps improving.
The 21-year-old striker admits he has always longed to play for Arsenal and he is determined to catch the eye of Arsene Wenger.
“It will depend on my good work at Le Mans,” Gervinho told skysports.com.
“I need to keep working and Arsenal will open the door for me.
“I have dreamed about that club. To play for Arsenal will be the best day of my life and I will do anything to play for them.”
Asked why Arsenal were his dream club, Gervinho replied: “It is their game, the freedom the manager gives them to express their qualities.
“They are all young players and out of all the top European clubs they are the only ones who work like this. I really love that.” (Skysports)
It is clearly a rather unsubtle come-and-get-me plea, but will Wenger still be listening? The young striker has been a much talked about player and he has helped his French side to their highest league position last term. I guess the obvious question would be, do Arsenal need another youngster at the club? After all, they have a raft of top players under the age of 21 and it could be they need more experience at the club, hence the signing of Mikael Silvestre. It could be that Gervinho is a player that Arsene continues to monitor with a view to signing when he has reached his potential in Ligue 1. Do Gunners fans want Wenger to sign more experienced players to help bring their youth up to full speed?
