The start to the 2008-09 Premier League season has been anything but predictable. Most thought Hull’s 2-1 shock win against Fulham and Newcastle’s 1-1 draw at Manchester United were surprising results. But little did anyone know what the second week of the season was going to bring!
Aston Villa falling to Stoke City 3-2; Tottenham blowing it at home to Sunderland; and don’t forget Arsenal falling 1-0 away at Fulham! Yep, that pretty much sums up what will surely go down as one of the most bizarre weekends in recent memory. All three teams were expected to contend for the top four this season, yet, all three managed to slip up in the same weekend.
