Rafa Benitez looks to clear the deadwood and apparently Blackburn see this wide man as ‘perfect’ replacement for David Bentley. But are they sadly mistaken?
According to the Daily Mirror, Blackburn will try to push through their interest in Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant before the transfer deadline closes. Blackburn boss Paul Ince sees Pennant as a perfect replacement for David Bentley, who has just joined Tottenham. (Kop-tv.com)
Pennant has managed to take the expression ‘flatters to deceive’ to a whole new level. The former Arsenal man should be a much better player than he is and by this I mean the 25-year-old has the ability and the weapons at his disposal to be an explosive winger. But for some reason there is something missing. At Birmingham he really impressed and hence earned his big-money move to Anfield – but he has been nothing short of average since his arrival and after two years of disappointment it appears that Rafa is ready to sell off the £6m rated Nottingham-born player. Do Liverpool fans think Jermaine is worth hanging onto?
