Sir Alex Ferguson looks like he may be about to sell two of his front men to Hull City and Everton respectively, but should the Manchester United boss think again?
Injury-plagued France international Louis Saha is on the verge of joining Everton for £4million, whilst his fellow striker Frazier Campbell is the subject of a £7million bid from Premier League new-boys Hull City.
“We’ve put a £7million bid on the table to Manchester United,” City chairman Paul Duffen told Radio Humberside. “The complexities of their situation are that it depends on them getting one in.
“If they do bring someone in I want to be at the front of the queue and I will do whatever it takes to bring (Campbell) to the football club.” (fansfc.com)
I think every United fan in the world is ready to bid farewell to injury prone Saha but could Fergie be making a mistake by offloading Campbell? The youngster had a great season last term, helping the Tigers into the Premier League and not surprisingly Phil Brown wants the lad back at the KC Stadium. But the 20-year-old Huddersfield-born forward could yet prove himself to be invaluable at Old Trafford. Indeed, if Man United secure the services of Dimitar Berbatov they will have a great set of front men to depend on – but maybe Frazier has earned the right to have another season coming off the bench and as injury cover? Do Red Devils supporters want to see Frazier staying at the club or should they cash in on his talents now?
