Reports are surfacing suggesting that managerless West Ham are facing very stiff competition from Arsene Wenger for this fantastic midfielder.
West Ham could face late opposition from Arsene Wenger for Appiah, with Arsenal believed to be considering a move for the player nicknamed ‘The Tornado’.
Appiah has been consistently linked with Arsenal over the past four years and his availability could prompt Wenger to consider adding him to a midfield which is in need of strengthening after the summer sales of Mathieu Flamini, Gilberto and Alexandre Hleb. (Telegraph)
Stephen Appiah could have his head turned by the interests of Arsenal if reports of the club’s interest are confirmed.
With Wenger being short in midfield but not bringing in any reinforcements, Appiah could well be the solution. (fansonline.net)
I, like Wenger it seems, am a big fan of the former Juventus man. Appiah is a commanding figure in the centre of midfield and a player who can drive forward from his own half in a manner not unlike Vieira in his heyday. The battling midfielder has amazing stamina and would surely be a great addition to any squad, not least because he would cost nothing.
The Ghanaian has some long-running injury concerns but if they were proved by a medical to be very much in the past, then surely the Emirates outfit would deem a move for this long-term Arsene target worthy. Do Gunners fans like the look of Appiah and would he complement the players already on show at the north London outfit?
