Juande Ramos is reportedly keen on bringing in this former Real Madrid legend to help improve his frontline!
SPURS will attempt to rescue former Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes from his pain in Spain when the transfer window opens in January.
The Valencia star is no longer an automatic first choice at the Mestalla with David Villa, 26, and Juan Manuel Mata, 20, above him in the pecking order.
Juande Ramos is a keen admirer of Morientes, 32, and, having failed to bring in another striker, he hopes to add the player’s vast experience to his squad. (Daily Star Sunday)
Whilst at first glance this may look like an odd target for Ramos but take into account that the 32 year old has had a decent two seasons at the La Liga club, scoring 33 goals in 57 games and if he can stay clear of injuries he could be a useful short term solution. Tottenham have only Bent and Pavlyuchenko and Frazier Campbell to call on at present and given the fact that none of those players have played together it might take a while to form a partnership so a move for the £3m rated Spaniard could well be a clever move. What do Spurs fans think? Would this be money well spent or should they go all out for a big name who is the right side of 30?
