According to this source, Arsene Wenger has been given the green light by the Spaniards to launch a raid for a star who has lost his place in the first team.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could launch a raid for Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure in the January transfer window after the Catalan club admitted his future was in doubt.
The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international midfielder has lost his first-team place at the Nou Camp this season and would jump at the chance of teaming up with his brother Kolo at The Emirates.
Yaya signed for Barca in 2007 for around £6.5m but has made just 25 appearances for the club. (Daily Mail)
Wenger has had a bash at bringing the brother of Arsenal man Kolo Toure before, but has so far had no joy. However, now that Yaya has lost his place in the first team at Barca, both the player and the La Liga club would be more open to the possibility of a move to the Emirates. What do Arsenal fans think of this? Would he be a good acquisition for a squad which is still looking a little thin on the ground? And would the normally stingy Wenger be happy splashing out so much money mid-season?
