There are rumours circulating that Wenger may be set for a big midfielder move in January and this Barcelona man has always looked like a player who would one day play for the north London club.
According to reports in the British press, Arsenal could be ready to line up a January bid for Barcelona midfielder Yaya Touré…
Arsenal manager Arséne Wenger has a lack of players at his disposal in the midfield area with Gilberto, Lassana Diarra and Mathieu Flamini all having departed in the past few months.
While the Frenchman has been linked with moves for high-profile free agents like Stephen Appiah and Mineiro, a one-time summer target has been once again mentioned by the British press.
The Daily Mail reports that Wenger is eager to reunite the Touré brothers at the Emirates, with Kolo’s brother Yaya allegedly in Arsenal’s sights.

£10m-rated Yaya is a quality player who has been linked with Arsenal for a while now. It’s not strictly true that he is out of favour under new boss Pepe Guardiola but he does have a few players vying for his position at the Camp Nou and that alone could lead the Ivorian to consider a move elsewhere. That and the fact that the Catalan club have begun the new season badly and are without silverware of note for two seasons. He has always looked like an Arsenal player in the making even when he was at Monaco and Olympiacos. Whether you believe that the Emirates side badly needs a defensive midfielder or not, I think we can all be agreed that if the club does manage to lure him to the Premier League then it would be a very fine signing indeed! Do Gunner fans think that there is any possibility this deal will indeed come to fruition?
