This source suggests that Rafa is very interested in making a move for this youngster who may be keen on a way out of his struggling Tottenham oufit!
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly contemplating a surprise swoop for Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale…
Benitez failed to prise a certain Mr Barry away from Aston Villa in the summer, but The Sun reports that the Spaniard may have another left-footer named Gareth in his squad before too long.
Bale is tipped as one of Britain’s hottest prospects, having already worked his way into the starting line-up with Wales despite his tender years.
Liverpool are thought to be at the front of the queue this time around as Benitez hopes to secure a long-term replacement for Fabio Aurelio, the injury-prone Brazilian defender.
The Spanish tactician has made no secret of his desire to lure more left-footers to Anfield now that John Arne Riise has departed. In particular he hopes to spruce up his side’s set-pieces, which have become somewhat one-dimensional with Steven Gerrard overseeing most dead-ball situations. (goal.com)
Gareth Bale is a quality player and one who has great potential and it is no surprise that he has many suitors. I guess the only thing in question is whether Tottenham would even contemplate letting him leave. Ramos has already seen his two top marksmen leave even though he desperately wanted to keep both. I am not sure if the young Welshman would be as disrespectful to the club as Keane or Berbatov, but who knows?
If the club were still struggling come January then maybe it would be worth Benitez putting in a cheeky offer? Do Liverpool fans think that Bale would be a great signing?
