Rumours are swirling around about Manchester United’s potential interest in this French finisher. Whilst he would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford, you have to wonder if the rumour is paper talk, or if this is United’s way of letting Carlos Tevez know that he’s free to look elsewhere?
Reports in France say Manchester United are still interested in signing 20-year-old Lyon midfielder Karim Benzema, but they face competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona. (Daily Telegraph)
Benzema is an all-business striker that would surely fit with Sir Alex’s current regime. Whilst it might be crazy to hear United linked with another striker, the rumour mongers are claiming that Benzema could be Carlos Tevez’s replacement in the event that the two groups can’t come to an agreement on a new contract before the end of the year. Tevez has been a wonderful addition since he came to the club, but recently things haven’t been looking so bright, as Berbatov and Rooney have started to build on-field chemistry that could see the Argentine left out in the cold.
Would United supporters be interested in a move for Benzema?
