This source below is claiming that Tottenham are looking closely at two new strikers, but are either of these internationals any better than what their new manager already has at his disposal?
They are also monitoring Amr Zaki’s situation at Wigan, where Steve Bruce admits he is struggling to keep the Egyptian loan star.
David Guiza of Fenerbahce is also on Spurs’ list. (News of the World)
No one can doubt the fantastic start Zaki has made but it would be a risk to bid the 11m quoted by his Zamalek side on the back of a few months in the Premier League. I don’t see Redknapp making that deal. Guiza hit the headlines last term as he finished the top scorer in the La Liga and then won the European Championship with Spain in the summer but it hasn’t worked out that well in Turkey with Fenerbahce but he could be considered a risky signing also given the fact that at 28 he was pretty much a journeyman striker before he struck it big at Real Mallorca and is therefore not the greatest player to turn to. To be honest I don’t rate this pairing as better than Bent and Pavyluchenko so I don’t see either of these making the move to White Hart Lane. Do Tottenham fans think that Harry should raid Fratton Park for new blood?
