Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Harry Redknapp as their new manager and with Spurs in a relegation battle, the former Portsmouth boss could raid his former club for striker Jermain Defoe and midfielder Lassana Diarra in January.
Redknapp has moved into the White Hart Lane hot-seat to succeed Spaniard Juande Ramos following Spurs’ worst ever start to a Premiership campaign as they are rock-bottom with just two points from the opening eight games. (Premiershiplatest.com)

Asked whether he would consider signing Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch, Redknapp said: “It depends whether the club want to sell them.
“If they did it would be an open market and we would be in there like every other Premier League club would be for one or two of the players.” (Telegraph)

So there you have it three top notch players, all of whom were linked with the White Hart Lane outfit before Harry was installed as the boss so don’t think this is the last we hear of them. So let’s think about each one of these potential signings. Diarra is the one that most Spurs fans will be most excited about a player who can help their midfield woes and a player who I fully believe could be a Tottenham player in January. Defoe is a natural predator and a player who didn’t disappoint whilst at the club previously and he too could well find himself at the club as they look to sharpen their attack. Peter Crouch I am less sure about, his aerial power is a threat but with Pavyluchenko already at the club I feel the former Liverpool man may not be considered by Redknapp as a must have buy. So which one of these three most appeals to the north London outfit?
