This former Celtic and Manchester United ace has made it known that he is looking for one last adventure, and that has led a host of clubs to his door. Apparently, Tottenham may well be one of them!
Henrik Larsson has hinted that he is looking for one more big move before he hangs up his boots.
The 37-year-old’s contract runs out with current club Helsingborgs of Sweden in December and Larsson, who has enjoyed spells with some of Europe’s leading clubs including Celtic, Barcelona and Manchester United, is keen on a move.
He told Helsingborgs Dagblad: “I know I am in a good position and I am not going to be late to use it.”
Clubs such as Tottenham, Everton, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven were all rumoured to be after the Swede during the summer and many are getting ready to make the striker an offer during the January transfer window.
Some clubs are even believed to have already come up with concrete offers to Larsson’s agent Rob Jansen such is the demand for the ex-Celtic man.
Larsson added: “I know there is a big interest and I am in a great position. It’s not only a matter of money, but also the challenge.” (Sky Sports)
Obviously Henrik isn’t a long-term solution, but he can sure as hell make a big impact in a small period of time, and a move for the Swede wouldn’t be that crazy. After all, the veteran striker is still very fit as he proved by playing three games in a week at the European Championships this summer. A wise head could be just what is needed at White Hart Lane, whether its coming off the bench or playing from the start during a jam-packed week. I think Henrik could be a useful addition for half the season. Do Tottenham fans believe that Larsson could do a good job on a short-term contract at the club?
