This source suggests that former Blackburn boss Mark Hughes is determined to land a very talented striker!
Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is determined to land Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz in January.
The Guardian says City will offer Blackburn Rovers in excess of £15m or use Darius Vassell and Nedum Onuoha in a possible part-exchange.
Blackburn do not want to lose their best player but the money will be hard to turn down and Santa Cruz has made it clear he wants it to happen. (tribalfootball.com)
Now I am not sure if offering Darius Vassell as a potential makeweight in such a deal will be considered as taking the piss, but Onuoha on the other hand is a decent prospect who might just interest Paul Ince, considering that no side has conceded more goals than Blackburn Rovers this season. Roque does seem more than likely to leave, and a move to City could be a beneficial one.
However, one wonders just how Hughes will cater for an attack line that would need to keep Jo, Robinho, Benjani, Bojinov and Santa Cruz happy, as well as youngsters Ched Evans and Daniel Sturridge to boot. Do Man City fans think that signing Santa Cruz would be a good move, or should they be looking to strengthen at the back rather than buying another striker?
