This relative unknown was apparently a player Wenger considered bringing to Arsenal, and now the youngster is back in the UK with a list of admirers apparently lying in wait to offer him a deal.
TP Mazembe striker Tresor Mputu is courting plenty of Premiership interest.
The DR Congo ace will begin Blackburn trials this week, but his agent Severin Bohuis told skysports.com: “We are currently sorting out a visa for Tresor to come over to England and he should be here by Thursday.
“He is due to go and train with Blackburn once he receives his visa, but there are loads of clubs interested in him as he is one the best players in Africa.
“Tottenham are interested in him and we will see what happens at Blackburn.” (tribalfootball.com)
Tresor Mputu appears to have been hawked to a great many clubs without success thus far, and now he is in England trying to persuade Premier League outfits that his tremendous scoring rate in the African Champions League and the Congolese league count for something. His former national coach Claude Le Roy has claimed that he has the potential to be as good as Samuel Eto’o, but what may be worth considering is why the player at 22 has not made the move to Europe yet? Do Tottenham fans think that Redknapp should take a shot on the youngster and offer him a trial?
