Mr Redknapp has a busy time ahead of him, as he plots some new signings when the transfer window reopens, will a new centre back be top of his wish list?
Harry Redknapp is believed to be interested in Fulham Football Club’s Brede Hangeland.
The Tottenham Hotspur manager was full of praise for the American-born Norwegian international on Saturday, when he starred as the Cottagers beat their London rivals 2-1.
Redknapp is looking to bolster his White Hart Lane squad when the transfer window reopens in the New Year, and he sees the imposing Hangeland as a possible recruit at £6million.
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson, however, will almost certainly try to resist any bids for the 27-year-old, who arrived in England from FC Copenhagen in January of this year. (fansfc.com)
After his side’s defeat at Craven Cottage, Harry Redknapp was very gracious about this Fulham centre back, and it appears that his admiration may well lead to a bid in January. The giant Norwegian must scare the life out of strikers running in on goal, and the former FC Copenhagen man has added some steel to the Fulham defence. No doubt Roy Hodgson will be keen to ward off potential suitors but, given that Tottenham could offer him European football and a fan base far bigger than the west London side, it may be a tough task to keep the American-born defender from considering a move should a bid be forthcoming.
Do Tottenham fans think that Brede could resolve some of their defensive problems, or should they be aiming for a bigger name with more top tier experience?
