This long-term Tottenham target has finally had enough of bench-warming at Bayern!
Lukas Podolski looks set to be on the move in January after handing in a transfer request at Bayern Munich.
The Germany international has grown increasingly frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities at Allianz Arena and is desperate to secure a move away from the Bundesliga champions.
He was linked with a host of Premier League clubs over the summer, following his Euro 2008 exploits, but was ultimately persuaded to bide his time at Bayern.
However, his patience has now been pushed beyond breaking point, and those clubs that expressed an interest during pre-season are likely to return for a New Year raid. (Sky Sports)
Well maybe this could finally herald the end of Podolski’s time at Bayern. The Polish-born German international has grown increasingly irritated at the lack of first team starts under new boss Jurgen Klinsmann, and he has been linked very heavily with a move to White Hart Lane, so perhaps this source is correct and he will be on his way to the Premier League in January. The £12m-rated finisher has a tremendous strike rate for his country, and has seemingly found it impossible to break past Luca Toni and Miroslav Klose into the starting line-up. He would be a fantastic signing and one that Redknapp is known to like the look of, so do Tottenham fans hope this deal gets sorted, or do the club not have the money for such a move?
