This source suggests a flurry of interest in this tricky winger!
Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is joining the battle for Wigan Athletic winger Luis Antonio Valencia.
The News of the World says he plans a £7million raid on Wigan for Valencia.
The Ecuador international, 23, has been a surprise hit at the JJB Stadium after arriving from Villarreal two seasons ago.
And he is also being watched by Manchester United and Liverpool. (tribalfootball.com)
There does appear to be growing interest in a number of Wigan players and this Ecuadorian is in many ways the pick of the bunch at the JJB but I am not sure he is quite up to top four standards and would therefore assume Aston Villa may be the most likely port of call for the Villarreal man. Whilst Liverpool could probably do with a right sided player, they do have Ryan Babel to call upon and Dirk Kuyt has done well in that wide role both this and last season. Do Anfield fans think that they need another right sided attacking player or are they well covered in this position?
