This source suggests that one of Harry’s first signings will involve a return to Fratton Park to do some business!
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will make a £3million swoop for Portsmouth keeper David James when the transfer window opens in January.
Redknapp is ready to go back and raid his former club after identifying the England No.1, 38, as the man to take over from Spurs’ blundering Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes, with whom he has lost patience.
James is understood to relish the opportunity of working with Redknapp once again – and sources close to both camps claim the deal is certain to go through in the New Year. (Daily Mirror)
Well, whilst its true that David James isn’t exactly a spring chicken he is a immensely fit and a player that obviously Harry knows well. The England international had a reputation as a bit of a bungler during his career but he has more or less eradicated that side of his game and is a very dominant man to have between the sticks and should Redknapp decide to replace Gomes then the former West Ham, Liverpool and Aston Villa man could be just the man for the job. Do Tottenham fans think that their new boss has no choice but to axe their Brazilian goalie or should he be given more time?
