This source claims that Harry will raid his former club for a couple of their prized assets!
Harry Redknapp is planning to return to West Ham when the transfer window reopens next month and make a £16million offer for Matthew Upson and Robert Green.
The Tottenham manager, who guided his side to a 2-0 victory at Upton Park on Monday night, has identified Green as the perfect replacement for the error-prone Heurelho Gomes and believes his former club would struggle to resist an offer when they remain in a major financial crisi
The same goes for Upson, who would be valued at £10m in the offer, with the defender just as important to Redknapp because Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate are so prone to injury.
Upson has established himself as a key member of Fabio Capello’s England squad, starting the last three internationals and coming on as a substitute in that memorable 4-1 win in Croatia.
Green has so far failed to impress the national manager, but his recent form suggests he will be involved when the Italian names his squad for the friendly in Spain in February. (Daily Mail)
Talk of raiding West Ham for some of their talent has been going on for some months now but the speculation seems to be increasing and I would think that Zola will be forced to sell a couple of players but may opt to lose Bellamy before he considers losing either of the two England internationals in this piece. Both Green and Upson would be crucial signings for Spurs and both would be a significant improvement on their respective areas at White Hart Lane. Whilst Gomes has been solid of late I think the West Ham keeper is a far more accomplished player and one who knows how to marshal his defence. Matty Upson is at his peak right now, hence the rather inflated valuation his 29 year old shoulders. Do Tottenham fans think that Harry should push to sign these two or look elsewhere?
