Two more players strongly linked with a move to Anfield.
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson can’t guarantee Brede Hangeland will be at Craven Cottage beyond the January transfer window.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid are all eyeing the Norwegian international centre-back.
Hodgson said: “Everyone is talking about Brede and I would say that he has certainly got the capacity to play for any of the top four clubs.
“But there is no reason not to be optimistic that we can keep this unit together through January. (tribalfootball.com)
Wigan Athletic forward Emile Heskey has reportedly emerged as a January transfer window target for Chelsea.
The powerful 30-year-old England international is out of contract at the JJB Stadium at the end of the season. As such, he could speak to any club in the New Year and leave on a free transfer in the summer.
On the other hand, Wigan could cash in on the player by accepting the offer by the rivals with reports suggesting a cut-price fee of £3m could be offered for a transfer in January.
Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have all been linked with the former Reds and Birmingham City ace. (Premiershiplatest.com)
Ok, well here we go, the speculation linking Hangeland works like this. Whenever he has a good game he is invariably linked with a move against the high level of opposition he has just played against. Hence after Fulham beat Arsenal thanks to a goal from the giant Norwegian he was then linked with a move to them, then he had a good game against Liverpool and was linked with them. He is a good player, but frankly not as good as what Rafa already has on the bench. As for Emile Heskey, Rafa is a good manager with a level headed approach to new signings, therefore I severely doubt he will even consider bidding for the Wigan man. Do Liverpool fans think either deal could possibly come to fruition?
