Liverpool set for FIRM offer for £15m MIDFIELD MAESTRO

Apparently giants Real Madrid are very much planning a raid on the Merseyside outfit for a player who may or may not be interested in a move back to his homeland.

Reports are coming in from Spain in particular Spanish radio that Real Madrid have made a £15 million bid for Xabi Alonso

Alonso has been the subject of much speculation recently linking him with a variety of moves but by all accounts it is Real Madrid that are ready to make a firm offer.

Until Rafa Benitez slaps a not for sale on the midfielder the speculation will continue and this can only lead to the belief that Benitez is still happy to see Alonso leave, it will at least raise some much need cash.

If Real Madrid do make the offer as they apparently already have done so then that will leave Juventus a stark choice, either match the bid or forever see Alonso slip from their grasp. (footylatest.com)

So this speculation continues and to be honest it won’t go away anytime soon. Juande Ramos has taken of a club in turmoil with mounting injury concerns and a team well of the La Liga pace and he would love dearly to snap up Xabi to play in his midfield and given that Rafa was reportedly keen to let the Spaniard leave in the summer and that Alonso is supposedly homesick, then this move could well take place. That is not to say that the former Sociedad doesn’t want to stay at the club, he clearly loves Liverpool but the constant speculation about a move doesn’t come from thin air and in recent months he has been the subject of very real interest from Juventus and Arsenal as well as the Bernabeu side. Do Anfield supporters feel that their maestro will stay at the club?
