The Paraguayan international has become one of the most sought after players in the Premier League, and he admits he is keen to quit Blackburn Rovers for a bigger club.

“Everybody knows my opinion (regarding a possible transfer), I am happy at Blackburn but also I want to keep improving my football and remain ambitious,” he told Sky Sports.

“My contract with Blackburn is clear and for that I need to continue with the club. But I am looking to again play in a big side that is in Europe and trying to win their league.”

Santa Cruz has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City over the past few months, but it is now being suggested that Arsene Wenger will bid £15million to take him to London. (

It seems very likely that Roque Santa Cruz will ignore the fact that Big Sam has been installed as Blackburn Rovers boss and still demand to leave Ewood Park. Up until now it had been highly likely that Manchester City would be his destination but if this source is correct then the hotshot may well decide that a move to the Emirates would be a far more attractive proposition, after all the Eastlands side is in the bottom three just two points ahead of his current employers. Arsenal should probably look to resolve issues in their midfield before considering such a massive bid but in saying that I can see the former Bayern Munich man fitting in well at the club and it will be interesting to see if such a bid does indeed come about. Do Gunners fans think that the Paraguayan could be a good signing or do the club already have enough quality striking talent?
