This source suggests that Benitez is looking to snare this hugely talented battling midfielder and just needs the cash to make it happen!
First it was Man City and now its Liverpool that are apparently interested in the services of Inter’s Estaban Cambiasso.
The quoted price for Man City was €17 million so how Liverpool can think they can afford that considering their current financial state is baffling, that said it would make sense that Cambiasso teams up with Macherano which in turn would allow the sale of Alonso.
A writer at Footylatest came across this news in his daily listening to Italian radio which is full of gossip, but that is not to say that all the gossip is worthless and while this potential deal for Liverpool looks unlikely stranger things have happened. (footylatest.com)
28 year old Argentine international Cambiasso has been a revelation since he arrived at the San Siro four years ago helping Inter to three straight Serie A titles and more than likely to be on course for a fourth this term and you can see why Rafa would be very interested in pairing Esteban with his international teammate Mascherano but clearly finances will be the biggest obstacle to this move becoming a reality. Do Liverpool fans think the club will be able to afford such a transfer and if so who would they have to offload to finance such a deal?
