Former Sporting Director claims Liverpool would be making a “huge error” if they let Benitez go

Some of the rumours swirling around lately regarding Rafa Benitez’s job security at Liverpool have brought a number of high profile names to the forefront, all of whom are backing the goateed-one and his importance to the Anfield club.

The most recent Rafa backer, Jesus Garcia Pitarch, is backing his former manager to remain at Liverpool for the future. The former Sporting Director of Valencia claimed Liverpool would be making a huge mistake by dropping the coach to the curb at the end of the season.

The Reds boss has been haggling over the terms of a new Liverpool contract for months, with transfer policy once again a burning issue.

But Pitarch said: “I think it would be a huge error if Liverpool allowed Benitez to leave.

“Rafa is a great manager, which he demonstrated with Valencia. I haven’t been surprised he has had success at Liverpool.

“He is always ready for any challenge and I believe that Liverpool can win the title this season.” (Liverpool Echo)

So what do Liverpool supporters make of Pitarch’s comments? Are you behind the manager for the future, or are you ready for a change at Anfield if they club can’t bring home a league title this season?
