Arsenal are set to get a big boost at just the right time. Could this player help the club move back into the top four?
Arsenal’s Eduardo is set to make his return to the sidelines this weekend against Cardiff in the FA Cup. After recovering from a horrific ankle injury, the Brazilian-born player has declared himself ready to go. But he wants supporters to know that it will still take him time to get back to his old form.
He said: “I feel good and I proved that I can play again.
“All my team-mates asked me if I was scared, but I’m happy not to fear anything on the pitch and I’m ready to play.
“When I came on, I must confess that I felt tension in my stomach, but it disappeared when I made my first touch.
“The most important thing is that I’m back, but I still have work to do to be the old Eduardo.” (Sky Sports)
Eduardo was playing some fine football before the injury last year. After working feverishly to get back on the pitch, he got the chance to give the ankle a test run this week in Croatia’s international match. Things looked good, and from Arsene Wenger’s comments, it looks like he could play a role in the weekend.
What are you expecting from Eduardo this season? Do you think he can help get Arsenal back into the top four?
