This striker has scored seven goals for the Gunners this season, and he’s clearly frustrated at the fact he continues to be no more than a squad player. With Eduardo returning to the Arsenal fold, he has issued a public plea to Arsene Wenger that he should be starting every match.
ESPN reports that Nicklas Bendtner is certainly not afraid to brag about his abilities, despite the Emirates faithful clearly undecided as to the Dane’s abilities. With Emmanuel Adebayor injured, the striker has clearly identified an opportunity to start a few matches, and has made a bold claim ahead of his team’s game against Cardiff.
”I’m very sorry to see Adebayor injured as we need him fit and to be playing in the league,” he told the Daily Mirror. ”But it does not really matter to me who is fit and available.
”I should start every game, I should be playing every minute of every match and always be in the team.”
While Adebayor has struggled for form this season, the striker was generally excellent for Arsenal last season, scoring 23 league goals for the club. He and Van Persie have been the preferred strike partnership this term, although should Bendtner now get a run of games to show what he’s all about? While a start against Cardiff is likely, surely Eduardo and Arshavin will come in ahead of the Dane as far as the pecking order is concerned?
