It’s not every day that you get high praise like this from a manager that once had his own unbeatable squad. Arsene Wenger knows what it’s like to be untouchable. His 2003-04 squad was able to accomplish the feat and go 38 games unbeaten during the year. It’s something managers only dream of; but for some reason Wenger believes Sir Alex’s current squad has the same moxy. He thinks they could be the new untouchables.
“We are on a very strong run at the moment and we have promised to give everything until the last day of the season but at the moment Manchester United look untouchable,” confessed the Arsenal boss.
“They are 12 points ahead of us and they have a game against Fulham which they will certainly win. If they win that they are 15 points in front and that means they need to lose five games.
“Let us say they lose one against us, that still leaves four. They still need to lose four other games, which they haven’t done yet this season. (Independent)
Well that’s as good as it gets. I’m sure Manchester United supporters will take that praise and bottle it up. Whilst the title isn’t given to the team that’s praised the most, many would agree that United do have the squad to run the table this season and win every trophy. Currently, Ladbrokes have United at 14-1 to win all five trophies. Those are some staggering numbers for a club that seems to have everything at the moment.
What do United supporters make of the comments? Are you the new untouchables?
