Can Tottenham come back from a two-goal deficit in the Uefa Cup? This player thinks so!

The road ahead for Tottenham’s progression to the next round of the Uefa Cup is a long one paved with many potential pitfalls. After suffering a bitter 2-0 defeat to Shakhtar in the first leg, Tottenham now return home to White Hart Lane with a large task before them. Whilst the task may be a big one, a certain Tottenham player believes the club can make up the difference tonight and win the match.

“We are two goals behind in the tie and of course it will be difficult but we are now at home and that will make a difference,” said Chimbonda.

“I thought we played well in periods of the game in Shakhtar and had opportunities where we might have scored.

“I think at home, in front of our fans, we can do it. We still have a chance. When we play at White Hart Lane anything can happen and we all hope we can do it because we want to go forward in the Uefa Cup. They are a good team but we would love to turn it around.” (The Independent)

Shakhtar will need to bring the same type of aggressive play that allowed them to grab a two goal advantage to WHL. Tottenham do have the advantage of the home crowd to get them through the match, but that might be their only advantage, as Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Luka Modric won’t feature tonight.
