You can talk tactics until the cows come home, but ultimately a football match is decided by who scores the most goals. Sometimes the best team doesn’t win, while having a stack of possession does not mean that the referee is going to award the game in your favour. The Arsenal manager has been wearing his red-tinted glasses once again and suggested that his team are as dominant as any in the Premier League.
Football365 reports that Arsene Wenger really is struggling to get to grips with this game we call football. Despite the fact that the Red Devils are storming clear at the top of the Premier League, the Frenchman seems adamant that his charges dominate matches more than the champions, hinting that Sir Alex Ferguson’s men somehow get lucky enough to put the ball in the back of the net.
“It’s a fine line,” said Wenger. “I have watched Man United get an opening here and there and they are a great side. But I don’t feel they dominate the games like we do.
“The trophies flow in for them at the moment so it’s all natural for them. Winning everything is not realistic because it has not been done yet.
“But for them it is still possible, so you have to consider that they could be the first team to do it. But I still believe it is a bit early to say that.”
Manchester United supporters would argue that they have bossed the majority of matches that they have played this season. Last week at the San Siro, they comprehensively outplayed Inter and it’s hard to see any other team in the world doing that to the Italian champions. Does the Arsenal manager make anything resembling a valid point above, or is he losing the plot?
