Arsenal to make £10m summer bid for next “Zidane”!

Wenger set to make another move for this talented but flawed attacking midfielder.

Arsenal Football Club are preparing a summer bid for Yoann Gourcuff.

Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of his compatriot Frenchman, who has in the past been dubbed as the new Zinedine Zidane.

Indeed, the Gunners boss wanted to sign the 22-year-old in the summer of 2006, but he missed out when the midfielder left Rennes for AC Milan.

Gourcuff is currently back in France on loan at Bordeaux, where he has rediscovered his best form sufficiently enough to catch the attention of Wenger once more.

It is believed the Emirates Stadium club are preparing an end-of-season offer of £10million for the Les Blues star, who has six caps for his country. (

Beware anyone dubbed the next Zidane, Maradona or Beckham (that one is for David Bentley) because they will invariably be nothing like the players there agents have decided to align them with. Gourcuff is a good player but by no means a great one and his career has stuttered a bit in recent years but a spell at Bordeaux has once again brought him to the attention of prospective buyers. Yes Arsene buys French but will he buy Yoann, well two years ago i would have said yes but i think not this time. Apart from anything else Arsenal already have some very talented players who would essentially play in the same role! Do Gunners fans think this move will take place?
