The speculation is mounting as this Bayern Munich star seems destined to leave the Allianz arena!
Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to become embroiled in a struggle to sign Franck Ribery after Bayern Munich identified his replacement as Lille star Michel Bastos, according to a report.
The Bavarian outfit have stated in recent weeks that their French winger has a contract until 2011 and will stay, but it now appears that they recognise his desire to leave.
Ribery has made no secret of his discomfort at the Allianz Arena while his agent has been making regular comments to the media about the Frenchman joining Barcelona or Manchester United. (goal.com)
Some sources suggest that rather than Bastos as a replacement for Ribery a move will be made to sign former Arsenal man Alexandre Hleb, whichever way you look at it though it appears that the French international is considering leaving the Bavarian outfit and if it was a choice between the stunning attacker picking between Barcelona and Man United surely he would find it hard to turn down the Old Trafford side given their dominance in the game at present. Sir Alex has made no secret of his admiration for the former Marseille man and some have even gone as far as to say he may be a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo if he were to leave. Do United fans welcome the potential arrival of Ribery or is he not required by a club looking good for a clean sweep of all the trophies on offer!
