Arsenal ready to make £10m Premier League midfielder move!

Wenger set to go head to head with Rafa for England man.

Arsenal Football Club have set their sights on Gareth Barry.

The England international looked set to sign for Liverpool in the summer, but the Reds failed to meet Aston Villa’s asking price of £18million.

“Gareth has spent 10 years here,” said the Ulsterman. “If we don’t make the top four no-one could begrudge him a move.”

Whilst the Reds are said to be prepared to pay £10million for Barry, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is also believed to be monitoring the situation. (

This summer expect another Gareth Barry-athon in the rumours pages, even more so if Villa miss out on that lucrative Champions League place. It seems that Martin O’Neill had come to a deal with the midfielder last summer and the England man has not let the side down this term but a series of poor performances have pushed the team into fifth place with two mighty tough fixtures coming up. Do Arsenal need a midfielder, yes, but i am not sure if Gareth Barry is exactly what they are looking for. More likely a player like Yaya Toure would fit in better. What do Gunners fans think, a good move?
