This Stamford Bridge man has once again been linked with a move to north London.
Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou has set his heart on playing for Arsenal, according to Gunners star Emmanuel Eboue.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger tried to sign the Ivory Coast ace last summer but Chelsea refused to sell and the player ended up staying at Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman could make a renewed bid at the end of the season after Kalou hinted he would like to move to the Emirates Stadium and now Eboue believes a deal could happen.
“I tell you what, Kalou has been speaking about Arsenal for a while. He wants to play for Arsenal since a long while back,” Eboue told Setanta. “Even when we were at the [Jean-Marc Guillou] Academy he told me about Arsenal’s attacking football. (eatsleepsport.com)
This is not the first time that Wenger has been linked with Kalou and the Chelsea man has of course spoken of his admiration for the Gunners and that has kickstarted the rumour mill spinning, but could it happen? Well by all accounts there could be something of a clearout at Stamford Bridge in the summer and the Ivorian is by no means a first choice so could be let go, he is valued at around £14m, which is a little pricey but the 23 year old has been a very underrated performer but has managed a respectable return of 28 goals from 83 starts especially when you take into account he is often played out wide by his current club. Do Arsenal fans think Kalou could offer something extra to the Emirates attack or do the club already have all they need in the final third?
