Roman is apparently set to open his wallet again!
Chelsea are ready to make a massive move for Barcelona’s Brazilian star Dani Alves as Roman Abramovich flexes his cheque book for a spending spree.
The Blues will be major players in the transfer market this summer and top-level talks are underway to land prime target Alves – at the second attempt.
The 25-year-old attacking right- back quit Sevilla to join Barca in July. Abramovich lost out and was also reluctant to join in an auction that reached £25million for Alves.
But Chelsea’s Russian ruler has regained his enthusiasm and has aides working on landing the classy defender.
Insiders close to the South American say he would prefer to relocate to London.
This could be a busy summer at Stamford Bridge. (Daily Mirror)
Dani Alves is an exciting player and one who Roman tried to sign last summer only to be thwarted by Barca. The Brazilian right back has been in superb form helping the Catalan side to within grasp of their first La Liga title in three years, would he consider a move to west London, i am not so sure. Things seem very up in the air at the moment at Stamford Bridge and they would hope to have a permanent manager in situ come the end of the season as no player would want to join and then see that a new manager has been brought in. Expect Man City to also get involved which will result in pushing up the price, that is of course only relevant if the former Sevilla man wanted to leave. Do Chelsea fans think the club needs a new right back?
