Liverpool target £15m Premier League pair: Neither are good enough!

Benitez linked with two Englishmen who could be on the move this summer.

If a report in The Daily Mirror is to be believed, the Madrid-born tactician has been told he will have as much as £40m to play with at the end of the season.

Alongside Barry and Lennon, it is alleged that Middlesbrough‘s left-sided winger Stewart Downing is a transfer target, as is Hull City centre-back Michael Turner. (goal.com)

Now that it’s been indicated that Rafa will be given a load of spending money in the summer a number of players have been linked with a move to Anfield and whilst some are worthy of consideration i don’t see either of these as being good enough for a move to the Merseyside outfit. Downing is a decent player but not better than Riera who has been getting better and better so there seems little point in investing big sums in another left winger. As for Michael Turner, well he started the season really well and has been a mainstay at the KC stadium but again he isn’t as good as what already sits on the Liverpool bench, so why bother?
