Manchester City FIGHT Aston Villa and Everton for £14m FLOP!

Is he worth it?

Manchester City are planning a summer raid for Tottenham winger David Bentley.

The Sunday Mirror says City boss Mark Hughes has made the disillusioned Tottenham midfielder a priority target after having watched his career grind to halt following a £16million move from Blackburn last summer. Bentley is desperate to leave White Hart Lane and privately admits that the move has proved to be a disaster for him.

Bentley flourished during the three years he spent with Hughes at Ewood Park.

Hughes is likely to face competition for Bentley’s signature from both Aston Villa and Everton but is confident the midfielder will opt to be reunited with him. (tribalfootball.com)

Would this be a good move? David Bentley has been a flop at White Hart Lane and whilst he may have done a good job under Hughes at Ewood Park is there any need for the Eastlands outfit to bid big for the former Arsenal man? He is a player that has always flattered to decieve in my opinion and i can’t see what all the fuss is about to be honest. He has occasional touches of class but has tending to vanish from games this season, hence Harry Redknapp now consigning him to the bench. Do fans of Villa, Everton or City really want their club’s to bid for the midfielder?
