I used to sit firmly in the camp that considered Mr. Rooney to be a law unto himself an individual who on the football field could not control himself and was a menace to his fellow players and referee’s alike. I no longer reside in that camp.
There was a time when on every occasion the Man United striker lost the ball he also lost his head ran back like a rabid animal and sought to bring serious bodily harm to the opponent who dared to take possession from him, but that time passed a while ago in my view. (The Halfway Line)
