The Analysis

Every so often, probably far to often, there is a rumour that just seems to bereft of any real substance and today that rumour has arrived in the form of a much publicised move from Man City to break the bank for Raul.

I am not sure how best to say this, but this will never happen, i am sure of it. The Real Madrid icon is one of those players i can just never see playing anywhere else. However the sum involved is very inflated given the age of the Spanish veteran and that may make the Bernabeu outfit think twice but can you imagine the amount of abuse the club would get from its fans if they allowed such a deal to take place?

And as for Newcastle being interested well that’s just hilarious. It would be like me saying “I am interested in Scarlett Johansen, i.e. of no real consequence. After all there is a very real chance the north-east side is heading for the Championship so quite how they would snare a footballer of the stature of Raul is beyond me. Also Liverpool‘s name has probably only been thrown in because of their penchant for Spaniards.
