Liverpool lead chase for £26m Inspirational Striker

The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!

The Rumour

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez wants Carlos Tevez – but he isn’t prepared to blow all of his transfer budget on the Argentinian striker.
Manchester Unitedhgy=\]]-[’s reluctance to turn their temporary capture of the popular Tevez into a permanent £26million deal has alerted other clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Benitez would love nothing more than to snatch Tevez away from bitter rivals United.
The Spaniard’s hands are tied, however, when it comes to his spending power, even though a truce has been called between warring co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks.
Even if Liverpool were able to negotiate a fee of £20m for Tevez, it would leave Benitez with precious little cash for other transfer targets.

The Analysis

Anyone who saw Tevez yesterday as he was subbed (yet again) will be of the impression that his waving to the crowds was a good indication of the Argentine’s feeling that Sir Alex will not sign him on a permanent deal, instead it seems Ferguson is keen to look into trying to somehow pinch the striker for free by looking into the validity of the players agent’s stranglehold on Carlito.

Rafa is ready and waiting to pounce for the inspirational forward and there is no doubt that as potential partner for El Nino he could be a great success but it does seem the Liverpool boss is loathed to be ripped off for his services, especially as Benitez has many other players he seems intent on snaring in the summer.

In my view the signing of Carlos Tevez would be the icing on the cake for the Merseyside outfit and he could well be the missing piece in the club’s title chasing jigsaw and the chase for the former West Ham man should be at the forefront of the club’s transfer plans.

The Likelihood

Tevez to Liverpool: Fergie will hate the idea of losing his number 32 to their arch rivals but it does a very possible capture for the Scousers.
