The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!
Pompey owner Sacha Gaydamak has made it clear he is not prepared to put any more of his finances into the club.
That places a question mark over the futures of some players still under contract, including Glen Johnson, Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar, who may have to be sold to help raise more funds.
England full-back Johnson recently signed a new long-term contract, but it is thought there is a clause in the deal that would allow him to leave if another club offered upwards of about £12million.

Glen Johnson is a hugely impressive right back and even though Liverpool have a very capable player in that position in the form of Alvaro Arbeloa I feel that the Pompey man has more to offer. It could be a sign that Rafa is getting ready to cater a squad towards the probably 6+5 homegrown quota rule that he is now looking at a few English players to bring in and this former Chelsea and West Ham man would be a great signing in my view.
Portsmouth are in a dire financial mess and will have to sell this summer in order to balance the books. This might be a little hard for the Fratton Park faithful to take however as the club has sold players to the tune of £65m in the past 18 months so one would have thought that the need to sell even more players would be hard to swallow but nonetheless that does seem to be the case.
Glen Johnson to Liverpool: I think this could well happen.
