Long Term Arsenal Target back on the Radar: Now just £10m

The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!

The Rumour

Another to add the muscle the side have been lacking since Mathieu Flamini left is Miguel Veloso of Sporting Lisbon. He’s been in transfer rumours for so long that his perceived value has dropped from £20m to £10m out of sheer familiarity.

The Analysis

Arsenal need a defensive midfielder, this is a fact that even undisturbed tribes in the Amazon have been bleating on ever since Flamini did his famous traitorous disappearing act, and this guy as much as any other has been the subject of most interest.

The Sporting Lisbon man has made it clear he wants to leave the Portuguese club however they are not to keen to say goodbye without a fight, which is fair enough, so the ball is very much in Wenger’s court. Yes Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham have also shown an interest but clearly if offered a choice the 23 year old would take a move to a Champions League level club. Veloso will have even more reason to leave the club given that the Lisbon side again missed out on the title losing out to arch rivals Porto who clinched their fourth straight title last week.

The Likelihood

Veloso to Arsenal: Either Yaya Toure or or Miguel will surely be on their way to the Emirates this summer.
