Not the best way to prepare for a must win encounter!
West Bromwich Albion have suspended Roman Bednar following allegations that the striker bought cocaine and cannabis hours after a Premier League match.
According to the News of the World, the 26-year-old purchased drugs from a car outside his house in Sutton Coldfield after West Brom beat Wigan 3-1.
A club statement read: “Roman Bednar has been suspended while the club conduct an internal investigation.”
Bednar was subsequently not named in the squad to face Liverpool on Sunday. (BBC Sport)
Whilst the win over Wigan was well worth celebrating it probably isn’t worth a drugs binge! On a serious note this is not exactly the ideal scenario for Tony Mowbray as he finds himself with a mountain to climb and needing two wins from two games to have any chance of avoiding the drop and now has to deal without arguably his best striker however the club do have in form on loan striker Marc-Antoine Fortune to turn to.
