Liverpool and Manchester City Lead Chase for £11m Premier League Striker

The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!

The Rumour

Egyptian star Amr Zaki will make a decision on where his future lies next month, he has told skysports.com.

The striker is about to finish his season-long loan at Wigan, which started with so much promise.

Zaki’s agent revealed earlier this week that up to four other Premier League clubs were now vying for his signature and the player is now considering his options.

“I will make a decision on my future in six weeks’ time,” he told skysports.com.

“I might stay in the Premier League, who knows?

“I am a good professional and I like it at Wigan, but we did not agree on certain things, that is life.

“We will regroup – my agent, my club and myself and we will make a decision soon – to go back to Zamalek is also an option.”

Reports emanating from North Africa claim Liverpool, Manchester City, Blackburn and Sunderland are the clubs most keen on securing Zaki’s signature.

The Analysis

As explosive as Amr Zaki’s introduction to the Premier League was, his dismal loss of form has been just as noticeable. Even before his falling out with Steve Bruce over his reluctance to return to Wigan after national team duty he was showing signs of burning out in the goals department and has now failed to score in his last 13 matches.

The question is, did the Egyptian display enough potential in his early season form to justify the risk of signing him in the summer? Sure he did wonderfully at Anfield in October but when he played the return fixture against Rafa’s men he was a shadow of his old self so it remains to be seen whether Liverpool would take a punt on the Zamalek man. As with any player of significance Man City have also been linked with a move for the 26 year old.

The Likelihood

Zaki to Liverpool or Man City: Amr has done himself too much damage in recent months so i expect a move to either Spain or Italy instead.
