Newcastle United a Championship Club with Champions League Fans!

A heartless performance from Alan Shearer’s men sends the club down to the Championship.

Anyone watching Newcastle United in action today would have thought they were playing for nothing more than a mid table finish, the ambled around the park, they lacked urgency and were in my opinion a f**king disgrace.

I couldn’t believe what i was watching as time and again they misplaced passes and then confounded these errors by not bothering to even attempt to get themselves back into the game. There performance was nothing short of disgusting and yet their loyal fans stood to cheer them off in a manner that very much sums up the Toon Army fans.

How does a team that at times had three strikers up front only manage four shots on target? If Villa had shown any composure the game would have been over long before it was and anyone watching could see that only be some freak occurrence were the Geordie side ever going to score.

As Mike Ashley looked on sheepishly and every player in a Black and White shirt on the pitch did nothing their fantastic supporters gave their all and it was just a disgrace that the players just didn’t turn up today. I think many can forgive poor displays from players if they at least show some determination some grit or at the very least some heart and today when it was most crucial the fans got none of these just an abject display from the first minute until the last.

No doubt more than a few of their mercenary minded players will be planning their exits and one can hope the team that is left is one that really gives a damn because their fans deserve something to shout about next term but if the club is not careful and continues to mismanage itself in the fashion that it has they could well become another Leeds.

Well done to the fans they get my deepest recognition whereas their team and their board really do need to take a long hard look in the mirror tomorrow morning!
