The all new rumour reporting article system is in full effect!
Real Madrid and Atletico are chasing Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant.
The News of the World says Pennant, currently on loan at Portsmouth, cost the Anfield side £8million when he signed three years ago but will be a bargain Bosman free transfer at the end of the season.
Spanish giants Real Madrid fancy Pennant, 26, as an impact player coming off the bench in the second half while Atletico see him as a potential first team regular.
Pennant’s agent has been in Spain this week talking to both clubs.

I fear that Mr. Pennant’s agent is beginning to tell some porky pies in order to try to secure his client as good a deal as possible. It seems somewhat unbelievable that either Madrid club would be interested in taking on the services for a wide man who is woefully inconsistent and more than likely to be a major headache off the field of play.
Perhaps it’s an ingenious plan to try to get Portsmouth to offer him a lucrative deal to make his loan move permanent but the former Arsenal man would do well to consider the fact that south coast side is trying very hard to get avoid financial ruin so unlikely to offer him a wage he may feel his performances merit.
Expect instead that Jermaine ends up at another Premier League outpost towards the foot of the table or perhaps back at newly promoted Birmingham where he arguably had his best spell of his tumultuous career.
Pennant to Real or Atletico Madrid: Never in a month of Sunday’s!
