Will this in form Argentine be on his way to the Premier League?
Reported Liverpool target Ezequiel Lavezzi seems ever more likely to be heading out of Napoli after writing a letter to fans in which he claims to have been treated with “a lack of respect” by the club.
The striker, who is under contract at the Serie A side until 2012, insisted he wants to remain at Napoli despite reported interest from the Reds.
“I’m writing this letter to the fans who have always been close to me,” read Lavezzi’s letter. “It’s a difficult time and I hope that soon the situation will become clearer as much for you as for me.”
He added: “The only sure thing is that one day there won’t be either Lavezzi or Marino but there will always be this great club and this immense city simply because Napoli does not belong to anyone, it represents the synthesis of the sentiment of their fans’ dignity.
“I have to choose between dignity and a lack of respect, because of my loyalty to my upbringing without doubt I choose dignity.”
Reports in Italy suggest Lavezzi’s representatives met with Manchester United chiefs in Madrid with a view to a move to Old Trafford.

So Man United now enter the fray for this lauded Argentine attacker so this can only help the Napoli side attempt to get a club to match their rather crazy £17m valuation, but will it work? Probably not.
The pint sized 24 year old seems to be in a rather precarious position with his Serie A employers. Some reports suggest that the players agent has been undermining the club and hawking out the former San Lorenzo man to the highest bidder, other sources suggest that its the other way around and that the Naples club want to milk the situation for all its worth and then offload the adaptable player for as much as possible.
I guess that is why the player decided to pen an open letter to the clubs loyal following but either way you look at it, the player seems unlikely to play for the club again but will either Man United or Liverpool feel sufficiently interested to put in a bid anywhere near the amount quoted?
