Interesting news concerning a Fergie cast-off
Arsenal and Manchester City have been in contact with Villarreal about a price for Giuseppe Rossi.
The former Manchester United striker has already admitted he has offers to return to the Premiership next season.
And El Correo Digital says Arsenal and City have approached Villarreal about Rossi’s situation, along with Italian clubs Inter Milan and Genoa.

Giuseppe Rossi could fairly claim to have never really been given a fair crack of the whip by Sir Alex Ferguson as the American born Italian managed just one Premier League start in 3 years, and that game ended in a 4-0 win for Man United. Since leaving Old Trafford Rossi has made a name for himself first at Parma and more recently whilst at Villarreal where he ironically found himself the replacement for another Fergie cast off, Diego Forlan.
The nippy striker managed a dozen La Liga goals last term as his side finished agonisingly close to a Champions League spot and is now part of the Italian international set up and may see a move to the Premier League as a good way to make sure he is uppermost in the mind of national coach Marcelo Lippi as the World Cup comes in view.
Reports have stated his value in the £10-12m bracket and given what the 22 year old has already achieved that wouldn’t be a bad price to pay.
Rossi to Arsenal: The Italian is just the type of natural finisher that Wenger could do with but Sir Alex still has first option on the striker and may have something to say about a potential move to a big rival!
