Liverpool about to Pounce for £4m Real Madrid Man

This could well be a rumour worth speculating about!

The Rumour

SOCCER: MAR 10 UEFA Champions League - Liverpool v Real MadridLiverpool are being linked with Real Madrid defender Gabriel Heinze.

The 31-year-old has a year left on the contract he signed when joining from Manchester United in 2007. Reports in France yesterday said his return to PSG is ‘almost fact’, but they would not be able to come close to his current £100,000 a week deal.

Reports in Spanish newspaper Sport say Anfield boss Rafa Benitez maintains an interest and is ready to pounce if the price is right.

The Source: (

Surely if Gabriel was indeed approached to move to Anfield he would hold of on a move back to PSG. Whilst the French club have improved in recent seasons the Argentine would surely like to give the Premier League another shot and would be offered the chance of Champions League football at Liverpool, something the Paris club could not offer.

Rafa is a big fan of the Real Madrid man with the insane grin and would have signed the player two years ago if Sir Alex hadn’t vetoed such a move. The veteran left back, and sometime central defender, has loads of top level experience and would be a great signing and would help fill the left back spot which is currently a weak area at the club.
